Inner integration through scrying

I was a young girl, prior to the age of 12 visiting a laundermat with my occasional stand-in mother. Within the facility there had been a small closet sized bathroom equipped with a sink and mirror. My guardian on that day in attempts to keep me content while she had washed clothes had told me to go into the bathroom, turn the light off and leave the door ajar as I gazed into the mirror.
Growing up beside my bed a cedar chest sat covered in cloth with a gothic dragon decorated mirror perched on top that I would kneel before and gaze into. My second home, when I finally took flight from my child hood nest also had its own mirror that sat against the wall on the floor. All grown up sometime after my grandmothers passing I had inherited a wooden mirror box, with intricate carvings within the wood. The top would prop up with space within to place trinkets and the mirror had dainty etchings across the glass. It has broken since that time but a larger hand painted one rests against the wall in my bedroom and I keep one close to my bed. My mirrors have been my tormentors and a non living friend at times that has helped me through difficult times in my life. You may ask how is that possible and is she cracking up? Stories of Nostradamus with a candlelight before a mirror recieving visions and knowledge on future events have been written throughout time.
The mirror as a connection to self and divine guidance. Learning to accept the image before you and coming to love it is the first step. Concentration and focus the next. I do not use onyx or black stone mirrors, just your regular everyday mirror. No need for fancy lighting or candles, just self and the reflection before you. The idea is to sit calmly before it  focusing on things in the background or self. Upon gazing at self a shift in the reflection occurs giving off otherworldly features and faces. A distortion within the glass. Medical studies confirm that mirror seering also helps with overcoming depression. Reaching a blissful state prior to through meditation also helps achieve the proper results. Softly asking questions and for guidance during the process and than resting afterwards or during to allow flow of conciousness, thoughts and feelings to arrive than writting down as notes or to store in the mind to process and interpret later. It is best to use prayer in addition to the spiritual work you are doing so that you are protected and guided through the process. If your eyes begin to water, soften the gaze. If an image comes through as disturbing blink it will disappear and you can restart the process. Cleansing the space with sage and salt can be beneficial however I keep my areas natural. Using the mirror as a tool overtime helps bring shadow self and light into a blended harmonious state that can also help those battling low self esteem and lack of confidence. A subtle shift in the energy, sometimes not as subtle brings the awareness to the forefront that you have spirit guides about you. A warmth washing over the body, a blanket of comfort, a vibration, or sometimes a more intense energy follows. A notebook near by for closing to jot notes, feelings, thoughts, images, symbols or whatever you consider to be divine guidance will help support your journey of inner reflection and oneness.
